Springspage.com Lead Service FAQ

Answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about the lead service:

  1. How do I get my leads?
If you are signed up to receive leads they are delivered via email only. You must have an email account to receive the leads, and you must give us your complete and correct email address to receive the leads. Leads are automatically delivered to you within 1 hour of the time they were submitted. If you are registered for the Autoresponder only, you will not receive leads via email.

  2. How much does the service cost?
The lead service is billed on a yearly basis. There are 2 services available, Leads/Autoresponder and a link to your web site. If you choose the Lead/Autoresponder service the fee is $120.00 per year for the first selection, you can add additional selections for $75.00 each per year. Links to your home page are priced at $150.00 each per year. The billing period will be the same for everyone using the service, for example Jan 1 through Dec 31, and fees will be pro-rated if services are ordered after the billing year starts.

The services listed above are free for an introductory period. There is no obligation if you sign up during this trial period, and you may cancel at any time. The services will be free through the end of the year 2000. Billing will begin in early 2001.

  3. What should I do with the leads?
The leads you will receive are not reservation requests. They are requests for information from people who are planning to visit Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region for business or a vacation. We'd suggest you respond to every one of them, even if they are looking for a different type of lodging or service. You should respond via email, and the sooner the better. Write up a general response ahead of time and send it back to everyone. Include your contact information, and any other pertinent information about your business. You should also include a link to your web site if you have one. To add a clickable link to your web site use the following format: http://www.YourDomainName.com/ . You will find that you get a better response rate if you send out a more elaborate message. People are more receptive to a few enticing paragraphs describing your business and services than they are to a "Howdy!" followed by your web address. You should also send out a brochure by snail mail, especially to those who ask for one.

  4. What is the "Autoresponder"?
Certain businesses may not have the time to, or benefit as much from responding to every lead. Our Autoresponder will automatically send back a list of businesses or services to everyone who submits a Valet request. A good example would be restaurants. Our restaurant Autoresponder will send these prospective visitors a list of restaurants, which they can print and bring with them on their trip. The Autoresponder will include your business name, address, phone number, a brief description of your business, and a coupon or discount if you want to offer one. These Autoresponders will only be sent to people who fill out the form requesting information about visiting the Pikes Peak Region, they will not be made available locally or to the general public. The Autoresponder allows enough space for a brief description, and can be turned on and off if you are using it to advertise seasonal specials.

  5. What about travel dates?
Many of the people who visit our site will not have specific dates when they submit a request. Rather than lose these potential clients we have decided to be less restrictive about travel dates and give them 2 options. They can submit specific travel dates if they have them, or they can select months in a given year if they don't have dates set. We do receive requests from people who are planning a trip a year or more in the future.

  6. Some of the leads are looking for services I don't provide!
You should respond to every lead. Even if they are looking for a B&B and you own a hotel, they may not be able to find one they like or can afford. Send them your information and let them make the decision. You also need to consider that they may visit again at some time in the future with different needs, and they may have friends who will be traveling to the Pikes Peak Region. Think of it as interactive advertising, an opportunity to expose your business to new customers, and respond to every lead.

  7. What kind of local advertising are you doing to promote your site? None. Our target market is visitors from out of town. Local advertising would fluff up our hit numbers but it would not provide relevant traffic and would be misleading. Our efforts are concentrated on acquiring visitors from outside the area and increasing the number of LEADS we can send you, not the number of visitors to our site. We'd much rather get 200 hits a day and send out 10 leads a week than get 1000 hits a day and only send out 3 leads a week.
